Participants felt the programme had helped them develop valuable skills
Since 2021, Green Man Festival and Green Man Trust have partnered with University of South Wales to deliver a Media Training Programme. This project sees a group of second-year Media Production students taking part in an intensive week-long work experience at the festival where they will develop skills such as camera operation, engineering and video editing and production.
This was my first ever festival experience, so I’m pretty happy I came and I loved every moment. I feel my biggest achievement is learning new technical skills of working behind the scenes both on the long range zoom camera and as an engineer, in addition to taking unique voluntary opportunities by storm that no other students wanted to do. I have appreciated everything.

As part of one of their university modules, the students also edit and produce a video documentary that will be shown in the Cinedrome during the festival: this cinema tent has a capacity of 1000 people. While developing a wealth of skills, the students have been able to work alongside some of their favourite artists, which makes for an incredibly valuable week of work experience.
